Education - First Baptist Church of Delavan

Learning how to be a disciple of Jesus is a life-long process.

At First Baptist Church we believe that our mission includes teaching discipleship – growing in our knowledge and love for God, learning how to love and serve as Jesus did, recognizing God’s presence in our lives, and inviting others on a discipleship journey with Jesus. We offer a variety of opportunities to our congregation and community.

COVID-19

Due to Covid-19, Children’s Sunday School materials were mailed to children during the 2020-21 school year with the opportunity for families to learn about Jesus together. In May 2021 Bible Study and Evening Studies reopened for in-person attendance, but also continue to be offered on Zoom. We resumed in-person Children’s programs with our Vacation Bible School in August 2021. **We currently offer in-person Children’s Sunday School classes with masks optional, plus an option for joining our Preschool/Early Elementary class by Facetime. Education Opportunities

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered Sunday mornings at 9:00 am for ages 3 through adults. Youth curriculum utilizes the David C. Cook series (org) and the adult curriculum utilizes Right Now Media materials. Seasonal activities include a Children’s Christmas Pageant and an Easter celebration.

Bible Study

Bible Study is offered on Wednesday mornings, led by the Pastor.

Evening Adult Book Study

An evening adult book study is offered several times a year utilizing a range of authors and topics.

Vacation Bible School

We offer a Vacation Bible School experience for children in the summer, including Bible lessons, crafts, fun field trips, and a service opportunity, as well as a summer Family Camp weekend at Camp Tamarack in Waupaca, WI that includes fellowship, fun and worship.

Worship & The Nursery

We welcome the presence of children in worship. They are not a distraction; they are important members of the Kingdom! However, as a ministry to parents of young children we also provide a Nursery / Children’s Church program.

Volunteers who work with children comply with our child protection policy which includes background checks and guidelines to ensure adequate supervision.
