7.6.25 – We the People

Day 1: The Breach in the Wall

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Devotional Thought

The removal of prayer and Scripture from public life may seem like a policy shift, but spiritually it marked a deeper wound. It wasn’t just that God was taken out of schools—it’s that we, as a nation, turned our back on the very foundation that upheld us. Like a dam cracked open, moral erosion and spiritual decline began to flood the culture.

Life Application

Take time today to examine where the “cracks” might be in your personal walk with God. Is prayer a daily part of your life? Is His Word your compass? Revival doesn’t begin in Washington—it begins in your heart.

Prayer

Lord, heal our land—but begin with me. Make me sensitive to the places I’ve allowed compromise, and help me to walk in humility and repentance before You.

Day 2: A Forgotten Foundation

Scripture: Psalm 11:3“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Devotional Thought

America’s foundations were undeniably rooted in biblical truth. From the Mayflower Compact to the Declaration of Independence, the influence of Scripture is deeply woven into the birth of this nation. Yet we’ve allowed revisionist history and secular ideologies to convince us otherwise.

Life Application

Do your children, friends, or neighbors know the truth about our nation’s spiritual roots? Learn it. Share it. Reclaim it—not for the sake of nostalgia, but for the sake of truth. Truth has a way of shining light in the darkest places.

Prayer

Father, help me not to forget or forsake the godly heritage we’ve been given. May I stand as a bearer of truth in a time of confusion and compromise.

Day 3: Dual Citizenship

Scripture: Philippians 3:20“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Devotional Thought

We are not first and foremost Americans—we are citizens of heaven. But being a heavenly citizen should make us better earthly ones. We’re called to be light in the world, representatives of Christ, engaged in society with wisdom, courage, and conviction.

Life Application

How are you using your influence—as a voter, neighbor, coworker, or friend—to reflect your heavenly citizenship? Are you more concerned with political wins or kingdom fruit?

Prayer

Jesus, help me represent You well here and now. Let me not retreat from culture but engage it as an ambassador of Your kingdom, walking in both truth and grace.

Day 4: The Responsibility of the Righteous

Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:1-2“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions…”

Devotional Thought

It’s easy to complain about politics—but what if the greatest impact we could have came not from arguments or social media posts, but from our prayers and our votes? The Bible calls us to pray for those in authority—and, when possible, be involved in the decision-making ourselves.

Life Application

Commit to praying for a specific leader today—whether local, state, or national. Research their policies. Reach out with encouragement or accountability. And most of all, vote not by party, but by principle.

Prayer

God, move in the hearts of our leaders. Surround them with wise counsel. And awaken Your people to pray and act for Your glory and justice in our nation.

Day 5: We the People of God

Scripture: Romans 1:16“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”

Devotional Thought

We don’t just belong to a country—we belong to a calling. We are God’s people, and we are not meant to hide in fear or shame. The gospel we carry is not political; it is powerful. And our world needs it more than ever.

Life Application

Be bold in your faith. Speak the truth in love. Lead your family in righteousness. Influence your community with the light of Christ. The Church’s role is not to blend into the culture, but to stand apart and shine within it.

Prayer

Lord, make me unashamed of Your gospel. Let me live and speak with conviction, compassion, and courage in this world You’ve called me to reach.
