Go deeper this week with a 5 day devotional:
Day 1: What Follows You?
📖 Scripture: Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”
📝 Devotional Thought: Everywhere you go, you leave a trace—like footprints in the sand or powdered sugar on a countertop. Spiritually, we also leave something behind. Psalm 23 reminds us that those who walk with the Shepherd should leave a trail of goodness and mercy, not bitterness and drama. Our presence should point others to God’s grace, not away from it.
🧠Life Application: Think about your daily interactions—do people leave encouraged or exhausted by your presence? Ask God to help you become more aware of the spiritual “trail” you leave behind.
🙏 Prayer: Lord, help me to walk so closely with You that goodness and mercy are the natural overflow of my life. May others experience Your love through my words, actions, and attitude.
❓ Reflection Question: What do you think people feel after being with you—refreshed or drained? Why?
Day 2: Companions Matter
📖 Scripture: Proverbs 13:20 “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”
📝 Devotional Thought: The people we allow closest to us influence our character, decisions, and even our emotional health. Walking with the Shepherd means choosing companions who also value wisdom, peace, and faith. Fools spread drama, gossip, and resentment—but the wise carry peace and perspective.
🧠Life Application: Evaluate your inner circle. Are you being drawn closer to the Shepherd, or pulled into emotional chaos? Choose friends who inspire growth and bring out your best.
🙏 Prayer: Jesus, help me walk in wisdom and surround myself with people who point me toward You. And if I need to love someone from a distance, give me the strength and discernment to do so.
âť“ Reflection Question: How have your closest relationships shaped your responses to stress, conflict, or pain?
Day 3: From Storms to Still Waters
📖 Scripture: Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me…”
📝 Devotional Thought: Life is filled with storms. But the real difference isn’t whether we face them—it’s whether we walk with the Shepherd or try to face them alone. The storms may be the same, but the presence of the Good Shepherd changes everything.
🧠Life Application: If you’re walking through a difficult season, invite Jesus to walk with you. Talk to Him honestly. He doesn’t remove every hardship, but He promises to never leave you in it alone. 🙏 Prayer: Lord, I need You. I don’t want to face life’s valleys on my own. Be my Shepherd and stay close as I walk through the places I fear the most.
âť“ Reflection Question: How have you experienced God’s presence in a storm? What changed because He was with you?
Day 4: Carriers of Goodness & Mercy
📖 Scripture: Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
📝 Devotional Thought: Goodness and mercy are not just things we receive—they’re also what we’re called to carry and deposit into the world. Just as God continually pours into us, we’re to pour into others: encouraging, lifting, serving, and blessing.
🧠Life Application: Be intentional today—leave goodness behind. Text someone a word of encouragement. Offer patience when you’re frustrated. Show kindness when it’s undeserved.
🙏 Prayer: Father, thank You for Your unending goodness and mercy. Help me not to hoard Your blessings, but to share them freely with everyone I encounter.
âť“ Reflection Question: Where is God calling you to carry goodness and mercy this week?
Day 5: Our Eternal Home
📖 Scripture: Psalm 23:6b; John 14:2–3 “…and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” “In My Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.”
📝 Devotional Thought: This life is not the end of the story. For those who follow Jesus, the Shepherd, our final destination is His eternal home. Until then, we journey through this life with a purpose—leaving a legacy of love, pointing people toward their true Shepherd.
🧠Life Application: Live today with eternity in mind. Don’t wait to get serious about your faith. Accept His salvation, walk with Him daily, and prepare for the day He calls you home.
🙏 Prayer: Jesus, thank You for preparing a place for me. Help me to live each day ready to meet You and determined to bring as many people with me as possible.
âť“ Reflection Question: If you knew today was your last day, what would you want to leave behind?
