4.13.25 Behold Your King – Palm Sunday. Pastor Dave

Go deeper this week with this 5 Day devotional:
Day 1: Trust and Obey
Scripture: Matthew 21:1–3 “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.”
Devotional Thought: Jesus knew exactly where the donkey and her colt would be. His instructions were specific and seemingly odd—but His disciples obeyed without question Or hesitation. Their simple obedience became part of fulfilling an ancient prophecy found in Zechariah 9:9. Just like them, we may not always understand what Jesus is doing, but we can trust that His plan is perfect.
Life Application: What is Jesus asking you to do that feels inconvenient, strange, or out of your comfort zone? Obey anyway. Often the miracles and meaning come after obedience.
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust Your voice even when I don’t understand. Teach me to obey quickly, knowing that You are always working for my good and Your glory. Amen.

Day 2: Hosanna – Save Us Now
Scripture: Matthew 21:9 “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Devotional Thought: The crowds cried “Hosanna,” asking Jesus to save them. They expected political rescue—but Jesus came not to save one nation and generation but the whole world (John 3:16-18). His salvation was bigger than their expectations, and sometimes it’s bigger than ours, too.
Life Application: Are you limiting Jesus by expecting Him to work in only one way? Ask Him to broaden your perspective. He’s working in ways you can’t always see—rescuing you deeper than your surface needs.
Prayer: Jesus—Yeshua, thank you for coming into the world and saving me, not just from what I think I need saving from—but from anything that separates me from You. Help me trust Your greater plan. Amen.

Day 3: Let the Rocks Cry Out? Not On My Watch!
Scripture: Luke 19:40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
Devotional Thought: Worship is not just something we do—it’s who we are. Our very breath calls out to God. If we stay silent, creation will take our place (Psalm 19:1-3). Don’t let anything steal your song. Worship boldly, even in the face of opposition.
Life Application: What is silencing your praise—busyness, fear, discouragement? Make space today to worship God from a full heart. Whether through song, prayer, art, or stillness—lift Him up.
Prayer: God, I don’t want rocks doing what I was created to do. As long as I have breath, may I praise You with my life. Help me push past fear and distraction and worship You freely. Amen.

Day 4: Clear the Temple
Scripture: Matthew 21:12–13 “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers.”
Devotional Thought: Jesus didn’t calmly request the temple be tidied up—He cleansed it with passion. Anything that distracted from worship had to go. What in your life is cluttering the temple of your heart? Life Application: Do an honest inventory. What steals your focus in prayer? What keeps you from spending time with God? It might be a good thing that’s taken the wrong place. Ask Jesus to help you clear it out.
Prayer: Lord, reveal anything that’s crowding You out of my life. Cleanse the temple of my heart. I want to worship You with undivided attention and passion. Amen.

Day 5: Out of the Mouths of Children
Scripture: Matthew 21:16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, ‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
Devotional Thought: Children praised Jesus freely—while religious leaders stood in judgment. Sometimes, the purest praise comes from the most unexpected places. Let’s be more like children—humble, joyful, honest in our worship.
Life Application: Have you become too “grown-up” in your faith—guarded or formal? Ask God to renew a childlike wonder in your heart. Laugh. Sing. Pray with simplicity. Trust Him like a child again.
Prayer: Father, return to me the joy of Your salvation. Let me worship You with a child’s honesty and delight. Thank You for loving me fully and inviting me into Your presence. Amen.
