Worship is vital in the life of our congregation. Through worship we hear God’s word for life, celebrate what God has done, and obtain instruction and direction on our journey of faith and discipleship. Worship connects us with each other and God.
Traditional Worship: This service follows an informal yet liturgical format incorporating litanies, scripture, prayers, a sermon, hymns, a children’s sermon, special music and a time of receiving an offering for mission. Contemporary Worship: This worship service is very informal in nature. A Praise Team leads this worship service, and a drama takes place in worship. The service includes the singing of contemporary songs, scripture, prayer, an offering for missions, a message for children and a message for adults. Midweek Prayer/Praise Service: This midweek service takes place once a month on Wednesday night. The service includes significant time for prayer on a number of issues, song, and scripture. Time is given for participants to share faith stories and prayer needs. The service is informal and is geared for 45 minutes in length. Lenten Worship Services: Lenten services are offered during lent on Sunday evenings. These services have been historically held with our sister ABC churches in the area. The pastors of these churches lead and plan the worship services and each participating congregation is given the opportunity to host one worship service. Advent Soup/Sandwich Luncheon Service: During the season of advent our church hosts a brief 15 minute advent service in the sanctuary. The sevice includes a brief devotion, song and prayer. After the service all are then invited to move into the fellowship hall for a lunch of soup and sandwiches. Noon Lenten Service: During lent, our congregation participates with five other community churches in providing an ecumenical worship service that takes place at noon each Wednesday during lent. These 20 minute services include scripture, prayer and a sermon. After worship all are invited to join in a soup lunch provided by the host congregation.
